The Wizzybug is a fun powered wheelchair designed specifically for disabled children under the age of five and addresses the needs of children diagnosed with conditions that restrict independent mobility, including cerebral palsy, spinal muscular atrophy and muscular dystrophy. Even those as young as 18 months can operate its simple controls, allowing them to zip around with their peers, developing spatial awareness, social interaction and independence. It can be used indoors and out of doors in accessible areas such as level gardens, playgrounds and parks, enabling children to enjoy the experience of mobility with their ‘first wheels.’Each Wizzybug is loaned out at least 3 times to 3 different children so the support will benefit at least 6 children in Scotland.

A charity group offering a variety of inspiring wilderness and nature experiences to ‘at risk’ youths, Wild things!, works in partnership with a range of organisations to provide extra support for young people who feel vulnerable or are struggling within mainstream education. This year they have launched an exciting new initiative to allow children and young people to observe wildlife at first-hand and start to make sense of ecological relationships and conservation needs. They will then create inspiring interpretation materials to share with their schools and local communities thereby encouraging many more people to learn and discover what is special in their natural environments.
