Welcome to dining at Chevin Country Park Hotel & Spa. Using only the best regional ingredients where possible, talented head chef Liam Stringwell and his team will look after you in the AA Rosette Lakeside Restaurant, located near the pretty market town of Otley, near Leeds, overlooking private woodland and landscaped gardens...a real retreat from the outside world.
We invite all guests to book a table for dinner prior to their arrival - just to make sure you get the time you'd like. Remeber to advise us of any food allergies or intolerance so we can have anything special ready for you.
Dinner is served in the restaurant between 6.30pm and 9.00pm where guests can choose from a daily changing six course taster or a la carte menu. Arrive to breakfast where a buffet style cold selection will be set up for you to help yourself – or table service is also available. Following your fill from here, we invite you to order from our hot selection which includes favourites such as cinnamon French toast with maple syrup and, of course, a full hot Yorkshire breakfast.
In terms of our younger clientele, we at Chevin have always felt that younger diners should have a choice without compromise when it comes to their dining selection. Choose anything from any of our older diner menus but we have also created a different menu aimed at the discerning younger diner who may be looking for something different.
This is exclusively for those under the age of 15, regardless of how much those older may want to try it! We have described the dishes simply but we can explain them more in person and of course we can add or take anything off as you wish. If you fancy something different, that’s fine just tell us and if we have the ingredients we will make exactly what you would like.
Special dietary requirements (including vegan, vegetarian, gluten and dairy-free options) are catered for. Just tell us your needs and we’ll do our very best to suit you.
Take a day off from cooking and bring along the family to visit us at Chevin Country Park Hotel & Spa for lunch. Surrounded by woodland, with views across the lake, could there be a more tranquil setting to round off the week? Our bar and lounge wooden interiors and log cabin feel lends itself well to a Yorkshire lunch retreat.
Tuck into our crispy calamari’s, chunky chips and dips, beer battered fish and chips, grilled rib-eye steak and so much more… did I forget of course homemade sticky toffee pudding.
Food is served every day between 12.00pm and 9pm.
We also serve the very best ‘afternoon tea’ from 12.30pm-5.30pm for only £11 per person.
We are happy to accomodate larger groups who wish to join us for lunch. For bookings of 10 or more, we ask that you kindly get in contact with the hotel so that we can ensure suitable arrangements are made.
Originally created to tame the hunger of mid-afternoon, afternoon tea has long become a much-loved tradition in England, enjoyed by many. At Chevin we invite you to take afternoon tea wherever most takes your fancy, from the Acorn Bar or Garden Lounge, to one of our picnic areas surrounded by silver birch, or indeed in your own bedroom.
The menu includes Victorian style finger sandwiches, homemade scones with strawberry preserve and lashings of clotted cream and an assortment of cakes and desserts to accompany your pot of chosen tea (or coffee). Add a bit of sparkle with a glass of Champagne or a dash of the English with a jug of Pimm’s!
Picnics can be ordered from reception if you prefer to keep outdoors. There are plenty nooks within Chevin’s grounds to choose including secluded woodland spots and picnic tables overlooking the main fishing lake.
If you prefer the outdoors and still want your food brought to you on a plate, then take a seat on the main patio or roof top terrace overlooking the lush oak, beech and silver birch.
The Lakeside Restaurant seats 60 guests, over two floors. The log cabin theme of the hotel is followed when you arrive in the restaurant, with wooden structures creating the walls and ceilings. As you move further into the room the wooden décor breaks out into a full wall of windows, giving guests views out over the patio and main fishing lake.
Dress code in the Lakeside is as casual or as dressy as you like.
You’ll be looked after by our head chef Liam Stringwell and his team. Liam was born in Otley and has the inside scoop on where to source the finest produce and freshest ingredients from the Yorkshire larder.
Liam’s passion is using simple, high quality ingredients and he loves to add his own twist by using unexpected flavours to complement the prime regional meats and vegetables. His homemade desserts are the stuff of legend.
Chevin has developed long-standing friendships with local suppliers over time. The kitchens’ beef and lamb comes from John Penny’s in Rawdon and pork is from Anna Longthorp’s farm in Howden, East Yorkshire. Chevin’s preferred fish specialists, MJ Seafood, deliver salmon and sea bass direct...from shore to door.
Chevin use Yorkshire venison, and all our fish comes from sustainable sources.
The food in Chevin’s menus are matched to the changing seasons with highlights like rhubarb from the Yorkshire triangle, and only the best quality beef, lamb and pork from regional suppliers.
And our Crerar chefs enter the World Porridge Making Championships every year so our porridge takes some beating!
We believe greatly in locally sourced ingredients, high quality and seasonal produce for our menus, which means occasionally dishes from our advertised menus may be unavailable.
Chevin Country Pak Hotel & Spa welcomes all occasions. We have helped many celebrate all manner of things from graduations to 90th birthday parties!
Our events team are happy to help where we can. Contacting recommended suppliers, creating bespoke menus and cakes based on your special occasion are all happily accepted requests.
Special occasions should be just that – special. Any special occasion or bespoke event which you are holding, from the ordinary to the extraordinary, our events team are more than happy to discuss. Intimate gatherings with simple requests, up to a grand evening reception for up to 140 guests, we invite a challenge and treat every event as it should be – individually.
We can provide pre-ordered drinks and cocktails, canapés and finger food, sit down meals or buffets to feed the masses. We can help organise entertainment, help with dressing up the room or creating a theme and assist with your playlist even; whatever we can do to assist your arrangements.
The Woodland Suite, Garden Lounge and Lakeside Restaurant provide a variety of choice in terms of size and mood of your occasion, and we are happy to show you round and answer any questions prior to you making any bookings.
