Crerar Hotels Trust offers a fierce £6,000 donation to Wild things!
Crerar Hotels Trust has thrown its support behind environmental education, during a special cheque presentation at Crerar Eight Acres Hotel & Leisure Club in Elgin, last Thursday, 4th September.
A charity group offering a variety of inspiring wilderness and nature experiences to ‘at risk’ youths, Wild things!, works in partnership with a range of organisations to provide extra support for young people who feel vulnerable or are struggling within mainstream education. It is one of more than 120 charities to receive monetary donations from the Crerar Hotels Trust.
Chairman, Paddy Crerar said improving quality of life is the main priority for the Crerar Hotels Trust.
“The natural environment surrounding our hotels inspire all of us each day, to see this inspiration carried through to children, young people and adults and to see them acquire new skills, confidence and interests is of great importance to us” Paddy said.
Office Manager and PA to the Executive Director of Wild things!, Mairead Morton was invited to the Crerar Eight Acres Hotel & Leisure Club on Thursday, September 4th, to accept their giant cheque and said how delighted Wild things! were to receive a grant of £6,000 from the Crerar Hotels Trust. This year they have launched an exciting new initiative to allow children and young people to observe wildlife at first-hand and start to make sense of ecological relationships and conservation needs. They will then create inspiring interpretation materials to share with their schools and local communities thereby encouraging many more people to learn and discover what is special in their natural environments.
Jennie Martin, Executive Director of Wild things! added "The support from the Crerar Trust is such a valuable contribution to this fantastic programme. We are so grateful for their support and look forward to working closely with them as the children and teenagers explore, discover and create fantastic interpretation projects about the wild and wonderful on their doorstep"
