Tourist Information Yorkshire

Chevin Hotel & Spa. About the Area

With private fishing lakes, lovely walks and roaring log fires, even staying within our grounds will help you to appreciate all Yorkshire has to offer

Historical Site - Harewood House
Home to the Queen's cousin, the Earl of Harewood. Harewood House provides a great day out for all the family. On a visit to Harewood you can also marvel at the Adam ceilings, Chippendale furniture and Old Master paintings by JMW Turner, Reynolds, Titian and El Greco in the house, explore the gardens and bird garden while youngsters can enjoy the challenge and excitement of the adventure playground, and for the less adventurous visit the medieval alabaster table tombs in Harewood Church.

Attraction - The Royal Armouries
If you thought the Royal Armouries was just about guns, knives and armour in display cases, think again. The museum in Leeds is a multi-million pound purpose built building. It houses a large part of the national collection of arms and armour, and displays over 8500 objects throughout its five themed galleries. Entry to the museum is free, though some events may be charged for.

Attraction - Harlow Carr RHS Garden
Harlow Carr is the newest and most northerly of the four RHS gardens. This, along with its challenging growing conditions, offers an ideal place to view what can be grown successfully in the region. The garden is seeing exciting new developments while retaining its uniquely tranquil and welcoming atmosphere. Probably the most spectacular are the dramatic new Rose Revolution borders that edge the path to Gardens through Time. Gardens through Time takes you through 200 years of living gardening history up to a contemporary garden designed by Diarmuid Gavin.

Walking - Chevin Hill Walk
Otley is a "Walkers are Welcome" town and is ideally located in the Yorkshire Dales, giving you access to some of the best and most scenic walking routes in England. Overlooking Otley is Chevin Hill, the public footpaths leading you up Chevin Hill and clearly signposted allowing you to experience the fantastic panormanic view of Otley and the wider Yorklshire Dales.
