The Glencoe Inn. Food & Drink
Our restaurant offers splendid views across Loch Leven and St. Munda's Isle, the burial ground of the ill fated MacDonalds and out to the Morvern Hills in the west. Frequently you can see sailing boats out on the loch from the Ballachulish sailing club.
Hearty, filling meals
Food is served throughout the day. Our menu offers a large selection of fresh local fish and seafood. Mussels, scallops and langoustines are all available, cooked simply to allow the taste of what can be argued as some of the best Scottish seafood to shine through. We also offer hearty, filling meals such as steak and chips or the delicious Glencoe Burger; unique to The Glencoe Inn it is served with Parma ham and Mull of Kintyre cheddar. For dessert, choose a comforting apple crumble with custard or the decadence of a chocolate fudge cake. We also offer a selection of fine Scottish cheeses.
We offer daily specials showcasing seasonal, local food where our talented chef can show his flare for new ideas and proven favourites.
Breakfast
At breakfast you can choose from either continental or full Scottish, complete with haggis and tattie scones, to set you up for a day out and about. We also offer afternoon teas with delicious home baking. Alternatively, we provide more substantial snacks such as satisfying homemade soups or a wide selection of paninis and sandwiches which are served from midday to 6pm. Speciality coffees are also available throughout the day.
Bar & Lounge
Our bar and lounge at The Glencoe Inn are warm, cosy and welcoming, with a wood burning stove as a main feature. As a Scotch Whisky Embassy our bar stocks a wide selection of whiskies from around Scotland and our trained staff will be happy to guide you through the subtle differences between the strong flavoured malts from Islay to the neutral flavours of the Lowlands. We also have our own 10yr old single malt 'Glencoe Inn Dram'. Our bar has a selection of Scottish ales and lagers on tap with a rolling ale of the month. We offer an extensive wine list from easy drinking sauvignons to full bodied merlots. Favourite spirits are on the shelf as a cool aperitif as are liqueurs, enjoyable after a good meal.
Children are well catered for with a specialised children’s menu offering traditional kids favorites such as sausages and chicken burgers. For the health conscious parent there are healthy options such as macaroni cheese or haddock goujons. All items on our children's menu are cooked without adding any additional salt. If your little ones have more mature tastes, children can eat from the full menu with reduced portion sizes.
The rib eye steak I had at the restaurtant was best ever I had in UK. We loved the attentive service we received at the hotel. The breakfast superb and chef only too helpful to serve it earlier than opening hours as we needed to leave early. The young waitresses very sweet.
