By train
Edinburgh has two train stations, Waverly Station and Haymarket Station. For Melville Castle it is recommended to use Waverly station as it is in the heart of the city centre with various transport links to the castle. First Scotrail runs regular trains from Glasgow to Edinburgh Waverley.
By plane
Edinburgh International Airport is situated on the outskirts of the city. The most direct and convenient transport to the hotel is by taxi, which will take around 20 minutes and cost approximately £25. The most economic route (although the longest) is to take to the frequent Airport Bus direct to the city centre at a cost of £3. From the city centre, take the number 3 bus from Princes Street, which will take you to the gates of the castle driveway at a cost of £1. This option will take approximately 1 hour.
By helicopter
Melville Castle welcomes helicopter arrivals, with landing space available on the South Lawn.
