Above this stretch are the best beats of Upper, Middle and Lower Brahan and, further upstream, the Fairburn and Coul beats, below the Torr Achilty Dam and Loch Achonachie. Permits are available Sports and Model Shop, Tulloch Street, Dingwall.

Grantown-on-Spey - The Craiglynne Hotel The River Spey
The River Spey stretches 107 miles is a popular Trout and Salmon fishing river and one of the finest places for angling in Scotland. The Strathspey Angling Improvement Association manage parts of the river around Grantown-on-Spey and administer all permits from Mortimers of Speyside.

Pitlochry - Scotland's Hotel & Spa Pitlochry Boating Station is located on the shores of Loch Faskally and is a magnificent setting in which to fish. Loch Faskally gets on average 5250 Salmon passing through its waters and also has a good number of Brown Trout, Perch and Pike. You can hire fishing rods and tackle if you need to and even hire a boat, getting you close to the action.

Isle of Mull - Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa
The Isle of Mull can offer high quality sea fishing and fresh water fishing, as is demonstrated by the waters around Mull holding the current boat record for Common Skate, Grey Gurnard and Plaice. There are several lochs on Mull with Loch Frisa being the biggest loch on Mull and holds good numbers of Brown Trout. Other lochs and rivers on Mull worth noting are Loch Ba, Loch Assapol and the River Aros.

Oban - Oban Bay Hotel & Spa Oban is uniquely located for excellent sea fishing and fresh water fishing. In the bay there are a number of companies offering chartered boats out to the sea waters around Oban, where Common Skate is the main catch of the day. Some of the best fresh water fishing around Oban is in Loch Awe which is famous for its wild Brown Trout whilst also having good stocks of Perch, Pike and Char. Fishing on Loch Fyne is allowed without a permit and many people have been known to throw a fishing line off the pier which is located in the centre of town. Inveraray is also only 10 miles from Loch Awe.
