Crerar Trust supports young Scottish talent with charitable donation
As a registered charity, the Junior Conservatoire’s goal is to prepare, train, enable and reveal talent amongst young people in Scotland. The charity offers outstanding specialist training through undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in dance, drama, music, production, screen and education. This year they received a £4000 donation from the Crerar Trust.
Director of Drama, Dance, Production and Screen Hugh Hodgart said the trust donation will be used as a scholarship fund to benefit disadvantaged Scottish students between the ages of 14 and 18 whose identified talents need to be nurtured.
“The Royal Conservatoire is delighted to accept, on behalf of our Junior Drama students, this generous donation from Crerar Trust,” Mr Hodgart said.“These funds will enable us to help support young people from across Scotland to fulfil their potential and pursue their dreams by studying their chosen performing art form at the highest level”.
Chief Executive of Crerar Hotels and Chairman of Crerar Hotels Trust Paddy Crerar said supporting the development of the younger generation is a core value of the trust.“Investment in the future of young Scottish individuals is key to all of our futures,” Mr Crerar said.“To help these youngsters find inspiration, and to acquire new skills and confidence in the performing arts is something we are delighted to support,” Paddy said.
The training of the the Junior Conservatoire is rigorous and inextricably linked to the professions, preparing talented artists and equipping them with the skills to fulfil their aspirations. Students of all ages are trained in a continuum of education, for the Junior Conservatoire, it is their ambition as part of Scotland’s National Conservatoire to give more children and young people across the nation access to highly effective conservatoire learning and teaching methods.
Crerar Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa Club General Manager Marc Gardner, said it was fantastic to receive a visit and hear more about the Junior Conservatoire. It’s through our guests that being able to support local charities is possible and for that reason we continue to welcome them to our hotels each and every day.
