Casual bar suppers follow hearty Scottish breakfasts. Fireside Victorian afternoon teas, table roast Sunday lunches and the best Scottish steak enrich our menu of classic flavours.
Tipping Our Team
Most of our guests now prefer to pay via debit or credit card including a charge for great service . To make this easier we have added an automatic service charge - we’ve made it a default 10% and you can change it to any level you wish including no service charge.
Our teams have always shared service charge and this is no different - every penny you might want to give is shared equally by our teams through our “Fair Fund”. There is no administration cost or anything retained by the company, what you may give is guaranteed to go to 100% to our team.
Service charge is entirely optional, if you would like us to remove it, you need only ask.
Breakfast: 7.30am - 9.30am Monday to Friday, 8am - 10am at the weekend
Lunch: 12pm-2:30pm Dinner: 6pm-8:30pm
A light breakfast of fruits, cereals, yoghurts, toast with Scottish butter and jams, coffee and a selection of teas. Or all of the above and a menu that includes Eggs Benedict, cinnamon French toast, peat smoked salmon, Finnan haddie and our house plate of smoked back bacon, farm egg, highlander sausage, haggis, Charles Macleod Stornoway black pudding and a grilled tomato. The vegetarian house plate has vegetarian sausage.
Local connections give our head chef access to game from HM The Queen’s estate at Balmoral. Salmon plucked from the River Dee also makes a seasonal appearance on our menus. Our Scottish meats are farm-assured, while our steaks are traditionally matured for a minimum of 28 days to ensure maximum flavour, tenderness and quality.
Our menu offers a selection of traditional favourites with soup and lighter bites for those looking for a quick lunch, and more substantial options with our haddock and chips and steak pie being popular options. Packed lunches can also be made up on request for those planning an adventure into the great outdoors.
With a relationship going back many years, our wines are supplied to us by wine merchants De Burgh.
We work with a range of farmers and artisan suppliers to source home-grown and reared produce wherever possible.
“The food is excellent, I had the wood pigeon for starter and venison for main and it was spectacular. Chilling out by the wood fire is great, the staff are all lovely and the location is great.”
