We are creating a new sea deck for drinks & dining alongside our new restaurants and bars, featuring local produce & seafood with the stunning views of Craignure bay. Our sincere thanks to all of our guests and customers and especially our local supporters, we look forward to welcoming you all back to experience our new hotel in the late spring of 2021.
7.30am - 9.30am Monday to Saturday, 8am - 10am on Sunday
Guests start the day in Spiorad na Mara Bistro with a full Scottish breakfast or a light continental choice from the breakfast buffet. A light breakfast of fruits, cereals, yoghurts, toast with Scottish butter and jams, coffee and a selection of teas. Or all of the above and a menu that includes Eggs Benedict, cinnamon French toast, peat smoked salmon, Finnan haddie and our house plate of smoked back bacon, farm egg, highlander sausage, haggis, Charles Macleod Stornoway black pudding and a grilled tomato. The vegetarian house plate has vegetarian sausage.
Lunch is served from 12pm - 4pm and dinner from 6.30pm - 9pm in the Bistro.
Seafood is often on the menu just hours after it being caught: from Scottish salmon to Isle of Mull scallops and Inverlussa langoustines. Our Scottish beef, lamb and venison are farm-assured, while our steaks are traditionally matured for a minimum of 28 days to ensure maximum flavour, tenderness and quality. Our venison is sourced from Isle of Mull’s Scallastle Farm when available. Lammermuir Luing beef from our Crerar Home Farm also features on our menus.
With a relationship going back many years, our wines are supplied to us by wine merchants De Burgh.
As the waters around our hotel are renowned for the quality of their seafood, we have established close links with local fishermen and fish farms. We work with local organic farms to source seasonal soft fruits and vegetables - and artisan producers of cheese to bring together the best of the area and the season in creative dishes for our menus. As winners of BBC’s Food and Farming, Best Scottish Cheese Award and triumphing with Gold at the World Cheese Awards, a visit to the Isle of Mull Cheese Farm is a must on your quest to sample the island’s best produce. The farm is owned and run by Chris and Jeff Read, who work off the simple philosophy of focusing on quality over profit. The Isle of Mull Cheese Farm is located just outside Tobermory, and the Read’s welcome visitors to witness the award-winning cheese process.
We've brought more than 100 Scotch whiskies and gins come together in a specially selected menu, alongside a choice of local brews, in our ‘spirit of the shore’ bar. Relaxed meals of burgers, sandwiches and shellfish are served in the bar from noon till evening. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the Observatory Lounge capture the morning sunrise from the comfort of sofas and armchairs. Seating on the decking along the front adds a breath of sea air to traditional afternoon tea.
