  • Olympian joins Thainstone House Leisure Club

Olympian and two time gold medalist at the Commonwealth Games, the one and only, Hannah Miley has joined Thainstone House's very own leisure club. Using the facilities to train for the 2017 World Aquatic Championships.

  • Money raised for Bloodwise at Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa

A Fyne Weekend was a recent fundraising event thrown by Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa, and we are pleased to announce that it was a resounding success. This prestigious event featured a variety of top notch entertainment from the EmmerDOLLS of TV soap Emmerdale, to the original Stig and an awesome supercar experience. The purpose of this event was to raise money for Bloodwise, a charity that funds world-class research and supports victims of blood cancer and all related disorders. In total we are proud to announce that over £5,000 was raised for this great cause, as well as much publicity.

  • Brand New Menu - Deeside Inn

Something special is happening at Deeside Inn. Not only have they rebuilt a brand new wing of the building after the floods, but they have also completely revamped their menu - and the results are truly outstanding. Using seasonal ingredients from enthusiastic local producers - the kitchen brigade are bringing something special to the table.   • Crerar Hotel's Trust Update & Community Prize

The Crerar Hotels Trust is a charitable trust set up to gift more than half of the group's distributable profits annually to good causes. We are delighted to share our most recent celebrations. 

Mindroom received £4,000 - This charities goal is to see every child and adult with learning difficulties in this country receive the recognition and help they need.
First Steps Future Training received £16,600 - This organisation works to ensure that all members of our community have a voice and are respected and valued, while enabling them to fulfil their potential with a zest for life-long learning.
Edinburgh International Book Festival received £1,500 - The largest public celebration of the written word in the world. Every August this charity brings over 800 writers and thinkers from across the planet together to get everyone learning.

Community Prize - The Crerar Hotels Trust also conduct an annual 'Community Prize', a competition put together as a way to bring old and young people together in a meaningful and lasting way. Our hotels shall each nominate a project that they believe deserves to win the whopping £25,000 prize. Last year's winner the 'Dee & Don Collective', organised Ceilidhs in and around Deeside, bringing the generations together through culture, history, dance, music and fun.   • Homeless World Cup 2016 - GoGlasgow Urban Hotel

This summer Glasgow plays host to the Homeless World Cup 2016, and with Crerar Hotels very own GoGlasgow Urban Hotel located on Paisley Road West, the hotel group is delighted to announce taking out a £15,000 sponsorship referee package for the tournament which kicks off on July 10. The generous donation will allow a team of referees from all over the world – many with an experience of homelessness – to be involved in the tournament. Read the full story here > >

  • An Evening with Cyrus - Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa

This Summer the Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa hosted the island’s first ever culinary event of its kind – an evening with celebrity chef Cyrus Todiwala, preparing and presenting a unique five course dinner containing nine different dishes, described as “a culinary fusion experience; fine Scottish food with an Indian twist”. Each course was cooked with ingredients almost exclusively from Mull and Scottish suppliers, and paired up (and cooked) with its own specially selected Balvenie whisky, presented on the night by Balvenie Brand Ambassador James Buntin - and all this in aid of fundraising for Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland (HIT Scotland). Read more here > >

been a donation of £5,000 to Roses Charitable Trust. The money will go towards supporting the running of their residential personal development activity courses on the Isle of Mull. The project delivers challenging outdoor activity courses for groups of marginalised young people, aged 7 - 21.
