Thermal Journeys

Begin your thermal journey at Coast Spa, incorporating heat, cold, and rest into your daily bathing routine for the ultimate body revitalisation.

Heat

Spend 10 - 15 minutes in the Finnish Sauna, Steam Room, or Stone Bath allowing the pores to open and expel perspiration, regulating the body temperature, and eliminating toxins
that have built up over time.

Cold

Whether you choose the cool poolside shower, the rain function of our experience shower, or a plunge in the North Sea, this part of your thermal journey is essential for lowering the body temperature after intense heat. Encouraging mild thermal shock, the cold works to stimulate the contraction of the skin pores and the release of adrenaline.

Rest

Post thermal shock, a rest period allows adrenaline to slow down and make way for
your happy hormones – endorphins. When released, a profound feeling of relaxation and
calm enlightens the entire body.

At least 20 minutes of relaxation in the Himalayan Salt Room, Relaxation Lounge, or poolside day beds should be taken before beginning a new bathing circuit.

Gentle - new to bathing circuits

Heat - 5 - 7 minutes Stone Bath at 49 - 65°C
Cold - Take a short walk outside or start a cool setting in the Experience Shower
Rest - 20 minutes of relaxation in the Himalayan Salt Room, Relaxation Lounge or poolside day beds

Refreshing - most popular with guests who have visited bathing circuits before

Heat  - 14 minutes in the Stone Bath at 49 - 65°C or 10 minutes in the Sauna at 80°C
Cold - 5 - 10 seconds under the waterfall shower
Rest - 20 minutes of relaxation in the Himalayan Salt Room, Relaxation Lounge, or on poolside day beds

Intense - guests with experience in bathing circuits

Heat – 20 minutes in the Stone Bath at 49 - 65°C or 15 minutes in the Sauna at 80°C
Cold – total immersion under the waterfall shower
Rest – 20 minutes of relaxation in the Himalayan Salt Room, Relaxation Lounge, or on poolside day beds

STONE BATH

This twist on a traditional sauna sits at a gentle heat between 49 – 65°C. Sit back and enjoy the gentle hiss of the hot rocks being plunged into the bath of cool water. The warm and humid air is filled with minerals released from the rocks within the furnace and the scent of the cedar wood lining the benches. The peaks and troughs of heat and humidity create a very warm yet comfortable experience.

Humidity - 30 - 60%

HIMALAYAN SALT ROOM

A truly relaxing experience using the natural health benefits of Himalayan Salt and relaxing chromotherapy. The natural salt micro-climate will induce deep relaxation while nurturing the respiratory and immune systems.

Immerse yourself in the aqua therapy experience. Each setting is teamed with bespoke chromo light therapy and aromatherapy to enrich the experience. Use the temperature control to adjust your shower from cold plunge to warm and soothing.

Rain - delicate on the skin, the rain jets cause a pleasant, stimulating and relaxing sensation.
Turbine - turbine-powered energising jet, for a powerful and intense stream of water.
Nebulise - the nebulised jet wraps the body in a cosy and regenerating cloud of water.

Coast Spa Bathing

Pool

Enjoy a swim in the indoor pool to ease muscle tension and get the body moving. The warm pool will be a welcome experience following your cold shower. This can be enjoyed for as long or as little as you wish. Alternate with the sauna and cold shower for a detoxifying experience.

Steam Room

Immerse yourself in the eucalyptus-infused hot steam, purifying your pores while relaxing stiff joints and muscles. A truly relaxing experience that should be followed with a cool down in the poolside shower or experience shower.

Recommended Experience Time - 5 - 15 minutes

Finnish Sauna

Finnish saunas are traditionally found around the shores of Finland. Dry heat has many benefits for physical and mental health, including improving immune function, preventing fluid retention and reducing stress levels. Ladle water onto the stove to create steam and increase the humidity. After 10 - 15 minutes it is customary to take a plunge in the sea or swimming pool. We would recommend the poolside shower or experience in the Thermal Suite.

Jet Pool

Enjoy a relaxing soak to ease sore muscles and improve sleep. Equipped with jet features,
this is the perfect place to relax after your spa treatments.

Temperature - 36 - 38°C
Recommended Experience Time - 5 -15 minutes

Outdoor Hot Tub

Enjoy a relaxing soak to ease sore muscles and improve sleep. Equipped with jet features
this is the perfect place to relax after your spa treatments.

Let the bubbles ease you into the feeling of weightlessness. Sit back while the hydro
massage jets work their way down your body and release tension. Team this experience
with a cold plunge shower for maximum effect on sore muscles.
