Aboyne Highland Games

Having formed in 1867, Aboyne is regarded as "The Traditional Highland Games," continuing to attract thousands of visitors each year to witness a display and competition of Scottish culture in one of the most scenic parts of Aberdeenshire.

Held annually on the first Saturday of August in the village of Aboyne, this is one of the true highlights of the Deeside calendar - a day of caber tossing, piping, Highland dancing, tug o' war, and the famous hill race, all set against a backdrop of stunning countryside.
