Situated on the shores of Lake Grasmere in the Lake District, the area is great for outdoor activities and exploring with your dog. Whether you take your dog to summit nearby fells or through the quaint village of Grasmere to explore shops and cafes, Cumbria is packed with places for dog walks. There are plenty of outdoor spaces and walking routes to explore on your next dog-friendly break in the Lake District.
Your Dog's Stay
We have a limited number of guestrooms that are dog friendly. We can accommodate a maximum of two dogs per room.
In order to clean up the extra dog hairs left behind by your furry friend, we charge an additional £25 per dog, per evening.
Please note that dogs are not allowed in our Dining Room Restraunt, and if you wish to enjoy a meal with your furry friend, we recommend the Terrace during the summer months or the Lounge.
Doggy Rules - The Bare Bones
- We ask that you keep your humans on a lead while in public areas
- Not eating but want to relax? Join us in the Lounge or Reception Bar.
- If you need a lie-down, we ask that you keep your humans on the furniture and all four paws on the ground.
- Please keep the barks down.

No, our dog-friendly Grasmere spa hotel welcomes your well-behaved dogs in select guest bedrooms, reception area, lounge and grounds of our hotel. All we ask is that you clean up after your dog to ensure the comfort of all our other hotel guests.
We would not recommend this, since your dog in an unfamiliar environment, they may behave unpredictably. However, as our hotel’s public spaces are dog friendly you can instead take them with you throughout your stay.
We can not guarantee this. Whilst in our public spaces, including our grounds, we ask you to keep your dog on a leash so that all our hotel guests can enjoy the peace and serenity that our luxury hotel offers.
