Oban Car Parks

Nestled on Scotland’s west coast and surrounded by endless miles of breathtaking shores and tranquil countryside, our seaside town is the perfect place to explore. With the isles of Mull, Kerrera, Iona and Staffa surrounding our charming town, guests are spoilt for choice on deciding which scenic route to drive. Or, if you’d like to leave the car behind whilst you go on an adventure there are plenty of places to park in Oban. 

As our hotel is located centrally in town along Oban’s Esplanade, parking spaces are limited to two electric car charging spaces and two disabled bays. But don’t worry, we’ve listed a variety of car parks located nearby and around the town centre. 

 

Oban Parking By The Harbour

As a popular town, Oban is full of on-street parking and car parks, all you need to do is look for the signs as soon as you enter our town and you are good as gold. If you’ve travelled by the ferry and would like to leave your car close, there is a pay and display beside CalMac’s terminal which is perfect for island day trips @ £3 however, these spaces are limited. 

 

Pay & Display Parking in Oban 

To park and explore Oban, you will be subject to pay and display parking in and around the town centre. Don't worry, most car parks all have a PaySmarti system which allows you to download an app and pay via your mobile. We’ve listed a variety of pay and display car parks below. 

1. Corran Halls (2 car parks)

PA34 5AB

Once you leave the ferry terminal, turn left and follow the road along the Corran Esplanade for 1 minute until you see the signs for Corran Halls 2 car park. There are 57 spaces at this car park. For those driving to Oban from the A85, on the roundabout take the exit onto Corran Esplanade, take a right and the car park will be on your left.

 

2. North Pier Car Park 

PA34 5PZ

With 70 spaces available, the North Pier car park along the Corran Esplanade is the ideal place to park up before exploring our beautiful seaside town. Plus, it’s only 1 minute away from the ferry terminal, and easily accessible for those driving through on the A85 - perfect access for day trips to Mull, Iona and Staffa. 

 

3. PA34 5PN 

Similarly, you’ll turn left after the terminal for around 0.3 miles along the Esplanade until you see the signs for Corran Halls car park. Within this car park there are 91 spaces and between October to March, parking here is free. 

 

4. Tweeddale Street 

PA34 5EL

0.4 miles away from the ferry terminal lies Tweeddale Street car park where you can safely park your car in Oban. There are 90 spaces within this car park and you can stay within this car park for a short or long stay, depending on your trip itinerary. 

 

5. Albany Street

PA34 4QT

4 minutes from the terminal, located near the police station, Albany Street car park has 36 spaces to choose from. To find this car park from the terminal, pop the postcode listed above in your SatNav and follow the road round. Otherwise, from the A85 take the exit towards Albany Street on the Argyll Square roundabout and the destination will be on your left.

 

Free Parking in Oban 

If you’re doting around Oban and only staying here and there for a few hours, there are a few car parks in Oban which are free for the first two hours. 

1. Longsdale Road 

PA34 5JZ

Longsdale car park is 0.9 miles from North Pier Ferry Terminal which equates to a 3 minute drive. With 92 spaces available and the 1st two hours parking free, this car park is the perfect place to park off the beaten track from the town centre. 

 

2. Lochavullin Car Park 

PA34 4HP

A 6 minute drive from Oban’s North Pier Ferry Terminal, just off of the A816, lies Luchavullin car park based on Lochavullin Road just past Tesco and the Royal Mail. Within this car park there are 65 spaces. 

 

3. Pulpit Hill

PA34 4LX 

Turn right after you leave the terminal and follow the Railway Pier road round for 0.7 miles until you see the signs for Pulpit Hill. Pulpit Hill is a wonderful hill that affords breathtaking views out towards the water. Perfect place to park if you’re exploring Oban. 

 

4. Ganavan Sands

PA34 5TU 

Around 10 minutes away from the ferry terminal is Ganavan Sands which holds up to 90 cars within its car park. When driving through Oban, take the exit towards Corran Esplanade and follow the road along Ganavan Road for around 1.5 miles. It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking to explore miles of sandy beaches around Oban. 

 

Long Term Parking in Oban 

Whether you are island hopping over a few days or staying in Oban for a longer haul, we’d recommend parking at Longsdale and Lochavullin or the council car parks which allow overpayment which accredits to the following days parking. The limit is £20 which works out at 3 days parking.
